Have you ever been scared to take a dip in the water because you just had a meal? Should you think you’re going to die and sink into the depths of sea? There’s a saying that you can’t consume a meal before swimming, or you will drown. The common myth that you should wait 1-2 hours after eating before swimming is unsupported by evidence. There is no study that shows an impact between eating and going in water. Medical organizations have never linked the reason for drowning by consumption of food. This saying is the level of stupidity as telling someone you’re gonna turn into a watermelon if you swallow a seed. So the next time you eat and are tempted to go take a dip, don’t hesitate you’re going to be fine.
