On December 20th, Hickory High School hosted its highly anticipated Winter Extravaganza Pep Rally, a festive event that brought together students, teachers, and staff for a lively celebration of the holiday season. The event kicked off with a beautiful and festive performance by the school chorus, led by Mr. Cowell. The chorus treated the audience to a series of Christmas carols and holiday songs that instantly put everyone in the holiday spirit. Following the chorus, the Hickory Dance Troupe took the stage, showcasing their impressive choreography and energy. The festivities continued with a performance from the Improv Club, who delighted the crowd with their quick wit and improvisational humor. The goal was for the students to shake the bells out by moving around, creating a fun and entertaining spectacle as they tried to complete the task as quickly as possible.
Another fan-favorite game was Hickory Feud, a holiday-themed take on the classic Family Feud. In this competition, juniors and seniors faced off against each other, as did the freshmen and sophomores. The teams answered questions about the holiday season, school life, and various fun facts, all while trying to outwit each other in a battle of knowledge and quick thinking. The friendly competition added an extra layer of excitement to the pep rally, with students cheering for their respective classes and enjoying the spirited atmosphere.
In another memorable game, students participated in a relay race, where they had to pull each other in sleighs up and down the aisles of the auditorium.
