While winter events are limited in Virginia due to the lack of snow, there are still plenty of fun festivities you can participate in this winter season! Starting off simple, Chilled Ponds sells ice skating tickets priced at fifteen dollars an hour. Varying between Friday and Saturday night, they offer “Glow-N-Skate”, where the entire rink is lit up with disco lights and music. Breezing to the next winter activity, the Botanical Gardens offer members and children under 3 free entry to the walk-through Christmas lights, “Garden of Lights”. Youth ages 3-12 starts at $13.95, adults 13+ at $17.95 and seniors 65+ or military if applicable at $15.95. Tickets sell out about a week in advance, and guests are allowed to stay from their arrival up until closing. Next up, Christmas Town! Busch Gardens sets up over ten million lights at Christmas time, giving the entire park a Christmas shine! General admission starts at $84.99 per person aged 3 and up. While most of the normal rides are shut down in Christmas town, you can still have a great experience by shopping, attending the plays, strolling the festive town, and going on the rides that are available. Last up, the Oceanfront boardwalk sets up tons of unique Christmas lights in a drive-through setting called, “Holiday Lights at the Beach”. Tickets sell at $25.00, with a discount of five dollars off to military members if applicable only on Mondays.
